GLF announces launch of Executive Accelerator talent programme

The ITW Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF) launches the GLF Accelerator, a ground-breaking new programme for executive leaders in international telecoms

Dubai, 7 March 2023: The ITW Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF) has announced today the launch of the GLF Accelerator. A ground-breaking new executive leadership programme designed by the industry to support the next generation of C-Leaders in international communications.

The GLF Board, which comprises 32 international carrier executives voted in May 2022 to create a Talent programme to address key industry problems:

  • Improve diversity at C-level and lack of process to change

  • Innovate internal recruitment and training to support a growth mindset and create inclusive company cultures

  • Enhance retention of top talent in the face of the retirement cliff and talent scarcity

  • Enable knowledge sharing and learning in the face of evolving industry needs

The GLF Accelerator sits within the “People” pillar of the GLF’s work alongside the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Working Group.

Chair of the GLF Board and Chief Network, Operations and Wholesale Officer at TIM, Elisabetta Romano said upon launch, “The GLF Executive Accelerator Programme supports next generation C-leadership development, whilst future-proofing succession planning in the face of everchanging technical landscapes, skillsets and cultural evolution.”

The GLF Accelerator is the first of its kind for the international telecoms industry, designed within the GLF by an Advisory Board lead by Oliver Camplin-Warner, CEO – International of Telstra including Marisa Trisolino, CEO of CMC Networks, Paula Cogan, CEO of euNetworks, Cathy Doyle, CPXO of Symbio and Aidan Walker, MD – Communications & Technology of Expand Group.

Upon announcing the GLF Accelerator, Oliver Camplin-Warner, CEO International of Telstra said, “The GLF Accelerator programme is about creating leaders of the future and giving them the tools they need to succeed. The first cohort will be inducted at ITW 2023 for a 12 month programme that will support peer-to-peer knowledge sharing in addition to a full course of curated and tailored learning which will be provided by the TMT Academy, the L&D arm of Delta Partners. Head of the TMT Academy, Sam Evans, said “Our partnership with GLF makes us proud. The GLF Accelerator will run with an initial cohort of 20 from May 2023 to May 2024, the hope is to be able to expand capabilities to enable greater scale and impact from 2024 onwards. The deadline for candidate nominations to take part in 2023’s programme is 13 March.
